iPod Merge albums?

I just imported my mosic to itunes and it automatically splitted my well organized collection in several (2-3 songs) albums, which is annoying... how to merge them?

Just around the river bend
first make the the artist and album artist match word for word, case, even by spaces! then make sure "part of compilation" is checked and that should do it. I just spent half a day cleaning up my library and doing all this lol

I have a few compilations in which the CD is actually from several artists... I'd screw it up if I change the name to a single artist, not to mention the search function would not work well.
