Just want to share with you guys the fun of DIY :)

Orginally was a 1.83GHz C2D with 1GB RAM, 80GB 5200 HD, and a Combo-Drive

2GB RAM = US$20
320GB HD = US$100
8X DL Super-Drive = US$50

Now, 1.83GHz C2D with 3GB RAM, 320GB 7200 HD, and 8X Dual Layer Super-Drive

Next steps, will upgrade the CPU to 2.33GHz :D

how are you planning to upgrade the CPU? isn't it soldered? or is that just with the Macbooks and imacs?

It might just be the new mini's that are soldered.

Previous version of Mac Mini have a socket for CPU. You can upgrade it for yourself. Check the instruction here:

It was used and purchased in eBay. The cost is US$330. Addding the cost of upgrade materials ($170), making a total $500.
