Need a new microphone recommendations?

I'm interested in purchasing a new microphone, one what I hold close to my mouth (not sure the name for it) for real, deep, crisp sound. What they use on radios maybe? I'm interested in a stand too. I need a USB one though as I don't have a lot of money to spend on a huge 'kit'!

You got any microphones you would recommend what is inexpensive? if you have a UK based site where I could order from that would be real cool. Thanks

common radio mics include the shure sm7 and the EV RE20. Heil also makes broadcast mics, but i've never used one.

none of those are USB, and i'm not sure they'd qualify as "inexpensive" for you. but it sounds like that's the kind of mic you're after.
