Why is this too cheap or too much?
Nevermind...you're right...it's too cheap just checked on eBay.
I guess i'm willing to take a 400MHz-500MHz G4 PowerBook.Anybody got one of these? If so, would you be interested in trading?

Actually I was laughing at the fact you think someone would trade, I honestly would be suprised if someone would trade out a mac for a pc and when you finally save up and purchase one you will understand. Keep us updated and good luck.

That's actually a really nice PC you've got there, Luuchi. Don't mind upperblue, he doesn't realize that some people don't like Macs as much as they thought they would.
I might be buying a PowerBook later this summer, and I would trade this iMac (800MHz G4, SuperDrive, 512MB RAM) for that PC, but I would feel I'd be ripping you off.
Good luck.

Actually I do understand that some people aren't as happy with a mac as they are with a pc, I work at an apple reseller, so I do experience this, but I still hold firm that I would be suprised if someone trades. Of the people who weren't as happy most still wanted to hold onto their mac. My opinion is just based on my life experiences. :)

Sorry guys, i might have the PC sold to a local buyer. Will keep you updated. If the person buys it, i might just in return buy an iBook or PowerBook. If not, i'll trade you, kieth. Just priced out my PC on a street price serach engine and it would cost $800 to build.Take it from there....

Hm. I wasn't planning on trading this so soon, but I just may. The only problem is I'm still paying for this iMac, and it's above the price your's is worth.
There aren't really any Mac-only programs I use. And since I want to get a PowerBook (or iBook) later this year, I may do this trade.
Keep me up to date on your sale.

Hey Kieth. It's yours if you want it.Cant sell to the local buyer because of the sound problem.Everything else is in top shape though. So think about it...
I can ship right away with my UPS account. All i need to do is buy the box.
To be honest though, i dont know how to do this so none of us get ripped off.Can anyone help in this area?:D

I've bought off of this board before, and also other boards and eBay. I wouldn't rip you off if someone paid me to.
But I'll try and get back to you on this. I'll have to think it over, and talk it over with some people.

just wondering how much you bought that for....
otherwise, if someone was unhappy with their mac (only god knows why ;) ), that's a pretty good deal in my mind...

I bet that card stomps on the ati 9800

It should. The core and memory are still faster than anything ATI has produced.;)

*sigh* The Radeon 9800 XT is currently the best card on the market. It's proven.
But ATI and nVidia are going to be releasing new cards later this month.

your graphics card is almost half the price of the whole machine?!?!?
i would expect that to cost at least $1200 especially since it's got that $400 dollar nVidia card...
sorry to get things off topic. nobody comment on this!

I def think you made a mistake.... You coud have parted that system out and made probably twice that with out the Video Card... Btw the processor, HD, dvd burner, case, ps and RAM.
But if u r happy cool...
Just thought I would give 2 cents..

No, both are 256 bit cards. As for the ram total, that means nothing, infact 256mb cards are slightly slower than 128, the increase in density comes with a decrease in ram timing speed. As for the clock speed, in video cards it really means nothing unless comparing identical cores. ATI's radeon 9800xt is light years ahead of nvidia right now, but april 13th the nVidia geforce 6800 (nvidia has dropped the geforce FX, so just geforce 6800) is coming and is supposed to whip anything out there right now.

"ATI's radeon 9800xt is light years ahead of nvidia right now"
That was my next guess. If that's the case I will start buying ATI cards.I know the drivers are better as well, no?Not exactly an expert on this.I thought since both those companies compete their GPUs would be bot on the same level. But guess not.

I'm sort of in the middle.I was just really anxious to get it sold to save up some money for a Mac.Took the $200 went to a local dealer and bought a G3 233 Desktop.Went to another local dealer and traded the video card for an XBox and $50.
Like i said i was anxious and you can't really get much from the local dealers nowadays.
