View Full Version : iPhone OS 3.0 Event 'Spoiler Free' Keynote Stream
applemax
Mar 16, 2009, 02:49 PM
Hopefully Apple will be posting a stream of tomorrow's event a few hours after it begins. As no other thread has been set up, it'll be safe and spoiler-free in here and hopefully someone will brave apple.com and get us a link to the video when it goes online!
Timings of the event from Engadget:
07:00AM - Hawaii
10:00AM - Pacific
11:00AM - Mountain
12:00PM - Central
01:00PM - Eastern
05:00PM - London
06:00PM - Paris
02:00AM - Tokyo (March 18th)
Oh and by the way, this is the event's signature :)

I have tried to contact arn to make an official one but he hasnt responded to my attempts.

it allows you to watch the keynote in full without having prior knowledge of what is going to happen. some like it, others think that we, the veterans, are crazy.
i personally love the suspense:D
i will say that stevenotes are better than phillnotes and i wonder if phill will present this one... we shall see

I don't think that MacRumors will be attending this event, so I doubt that MacRumorsLive will be up, along with the issues last time.
As for the purpose of the "spoiler free thread," it is a place where the few and proud wait until Apple uploads a video of the event (usually within 4-5 hours following the conclusion of the event) to Apple.com. The link is usually posted here, and then people who subscribe and participate with the "spoiler free thread" can watch the event without finding out what happens in it beforehand (basically to make it seem like you were there watching it live).
And you can go anywhere else on the forum to find out what happens during the event, but those who wait here (and here alone) do not find out what happens until they watch the video of the event and how Apple has presented everything.

Maybe that's a reason. I remember the most recent blooper was when Phil Schiller referred to Microsoft ActiveSync as "ActiveStink". It was there in the keynote stream, but Apple edited it out from the iTunes version of the video.
Edit: Apple posted a page detailing iPhone OS 3.0 features. It also says:

nahhh the fastest i remember them getting it out is in 2 hours... sometimes it can take more than 4 though
I don't think it's any indicator. Just the slightest misinformation can affect Apple's stock. Maybe right now there's a rumor about the chip in the Shuffle's earbuds: It's not a controller chip, it's actually a mind controlling device!
haha ya but i can be super paranoid:eek::eek::eek:
Thanks! So now the real wait begins...
the best/worst part of it all!
I would guess two hours, actually... :-/
ya 2-4 is my guess... hoping its less though
I was trying to read some non-tech blog and I was some headline about the iPhone so I quickly closed the window. This couple of hours after the end of keynote is the hardest couple of hours for any fanboy. I have nothing to do now, so why don't you speed it up and put the stream Apple.
ouch sorry man... ya i go completely dark except for this forum starting at 8AM the day of the presentation... its so hard!
I really don't know why Apple stopped live streams of special events. I remember watching MacWorld 2002 live over dialup!
LUCKY!!! i wish i coulda done that... but i gotta admit... the wait can be sorta fun;)
Any time now ;)
Edit: I haven't seen or read anything about today's event yet. I'm still "spoiler-free" :p
how on earth have you managed that??? hope you can stay that way! good luck! and thanks again for your help!
I feel like this is the hard core section.....any one still hanging on?
I think I may test safari's reload speed on this page?
haha im still here... ya there are some pretty crazy people here that dont like to know anything... stocks, duration, or even discuss apple at all...
i dont like to hear about stocks or duration but i dont mind talking about apple and past things... im paranoid ya... and i think about things to much... hopefully only an hour left!!!

I'm still here too :)
Apple hasn't posted the stream yet. :(
I remember the quickest was last year's notebook event, but I don't remember when exactly.
i wanna say that that was 45 minutes to an hour.... it was quick
maybe the event was 2 hours because woz gets up to do a special dance?
THAT WOULD BE HILARIOUS!
COPY AND PASTE, BLUETOOTH, MMS, SMS FORWARDING!!!!!!11!!!! :p
I just want these features to be in iPhone 3.0 just to stop the whining every time the iPhone is mentioned. It's absolutely ridiculous how some people overlook the overall package the iPhone offers because of minor annoyances.
What I actually want in iPhone 3.0? A unified and shared file storage available for all applications. For instance, I want to save an e-mail attachment, and open it with another application, like the HP Printing Utility. :)
people want perfection and wont realize how good what they have is... though i do like your unified and shared file storage idea... that would be nice
What if nobody is really looking for the stream and we are all here waiting forever? :D
dont worry... void is here for us!

ok done with my really long replys... sorry i had to catch up cuz i forgot my iphone at home... bad day today in school:(

What has been your favorite keynote since the iphone announcement jan 07?
and the most disappointing.

I'm hoping for something no one's expecting. Don't really care about copy and paste. MMS and proper bluetooth for data transfer would be handy but not essential. I don't care about any of that stuff really - If I did I wouldn't have an iPhone :)
I was just watching the event that Steve Jobs & Bill Gates were both at and something Steve said really stuck. He was talking about Apples philosophy and that the key to there devices is in the balance of what they leave out as well as what they leave in.
I'm hoping for something no else has thought off. All this adding little bits of functionality here and there seems too mundane to hold a whole event over.
Here's to skating where the puck is going to be :)

I guess beacuse " the site " normal host a spoiler free stream themselves but as the site is not then I guess this is a safe non congested place to go? but I am only guessing.

not 100% sure but im guessing that because its a user created one that was the only section that the creator could create it with it seeming somewhat logical... honestly though... i have no idea

that would be his luck... i think something like that happened at MWSF 09 also haha

Just like everybody else I can't wait to watch the keynote. I guess we are nerds. That makes me wonder about the people who stay spoiler free. What kind of people are that. I am a student (23) who is only a mac user since februari '07. What about the rest of us?

Thanks for the responses, I was just curious. There was this thread already http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=7293546#post7293546 that I turned off because A) I don't have an iPhone and it was just flooding Forum Spy and B) every time I saw it pop up and I read some of the new things made me depressed because I don't have an iPhone, I can't afford an iPhone. :(

I switched to Mac back in Jan 07 the same week of the original iPhone news. I watched Steve's keynote and was so moved by how much they got right in a cellphone 1st time out. I figured I should check out their computers too. I called my friend who worked in an Apple reseller on the Wednesday, went in to play around on the Thursday and by Friday PM had my very own brand new Black Macbook... and I've never looked back :) :apple: :)

You are right. I don't refresh the first page, I refresh the last page to see new replies. That's the whole idea of staying spoiler free. Together waiting for someone (void) to post a link.
