does the audio quality among i devices differ? im listening to my new shuffle and i think it sounds considerably better than my iPhone 3G, im using the in ear buds with remote on both, and the shuffle has better base, and just stronger sound. I have 320kbps audio synced the both also, so it just must be the way they handle audio, ive also heard the 5.5G ipod video has the best sound due to its wolfson audio processor.

A) Search. There are like 5 threads asking the exact same thing.

B) Most people seem to think it was the 5.5 Gen iPod.

C) I think it's the new Nano for some reason, but sound just seems better to me. :p

I have found the same thing. I bought a pair of Shure SE210's and I love them. I've been using them with my iPhone for about 6 months and am very pleased with the sound quality. I've found that the sound is balanced; the bass doesn't really "pop" but is acceptable. They're great for listening to classical and rock.
Well...
I decided to purchase something smaller for the gym. I found a 2g shuffle on the Apple website for $55.00 so decided to buy one. As soon as I plugged my Shures in it was like getting hit with a brick. WOW! Truly amazing. It was as if i was listening with different earphones. I'm not a tech geek but one has to wonder why they can't put a similar chip in the iPhone as something as inexpensive as a Shuffle. The sound quality is really that much better.
