Being a Software Engineering student... i'm not that artistic. But I think i am imaginative and ingenious.
Basically I can't draw, can't sing, can kinda dance, can't dress well, or so my girl friends say... but I am damn good at software analysis & design !
Being artistic must be a lot of fun, cause what you create is more of a representation of yourself and your own emotions, while engineering is just the opposite.

Wrong. It's a common stereotype of Mac users that they are all artists. This is not like "What's your favorite color?" at all. Rather, it reveals something about MacRumors users. Of course, the way the question was worded, every pleated-khaki *nix poindexter is clicking on the artistic choice because they are "creative." Okay, maybe that was mean. Let's blame the English language for letting "art" have too many meanings.

I'm a musician and a composer ( I play clarinet and played in a symphony orchestra for 7 years), and I am a writer, and am about to write a screenplay. I can't draw worth %^&* but I think my other talents make me worthy enough to call myself artistic. :cool:

I'm a photographer. That's totally art, despite what many people say.

Maybe a more interesting poll would be if you're an artist, what type of art do you do. Photography or graphic design would clearly draw the Mac users, but a painter may very well use PCs, as that art is not computer reliant.

Well, as Hal9000 posted at the beginning of the first couple of posts for this thread, those that voted negative painted a big negative. To me, it's sad, because, to me, to be artistic means you have skill in something related to art, which has a wide variety of classifications. So by saying "No" in response to the poll, that's saying basically that you aren't skillful in any possible classification of art. And that's kind of sad, because that shows to me a lack of self-confidence in one's ability to perform skilled operations (not machinery, I mean skilled/artistic operations).

Not to insult your artistic talent, but I think what kind of scholarship they gave you is a better match to your ability.

Oh, and I said "yes" to the poll since I consider myself artistic. I'm studying graphic design right now, too. But I enjoy photography more.

This the only disadvantage of owning a Mac, having a Mac and not be artistic at the same time, a bit frustrating. But even I have done some cute things on my Mac, which I couldn't imagine doing on a PC. :)

I'm a philosopher. Supposedly, that it to say, that I define art. Though that does not make me an artist myself, even if it is the work of my own that is created within my mind. Such would see taking a crap as artistic.

Welcome to MacRumors o1b2 - I see you just joined and have 22 posts in your first day! You may not want to just go through old polls and enter 1-sentence replies to them though. The Mods may think it is a lame attempt to bump up your post count through meaningless posts that don't really contribute, so you may want to watch it. Other members tend to keep an eye on that too and sometimes is isn't looked favorably upon...

Came here to find info on some app I bought that seem to have install issues and decided to jump back into the forum, since I tock a night off from getting drunk. sorry to anyone, but just bored and like to write. And the baseball forum I write on a lot is down for maintance tonight.

i start my freshman year tomorrow at an arts high school in the instrumental music program so i guess that counts as artistic although i cant do anything visual-artistic *at all*. oh btw it's NESA in san antonio.

I'm working with my church's Radio Ministry since September. Doing mixing of sound for the congregation and recording tapes. It a mater of knowing basics of sound and using my God given sense of hearing. So now I'm using a little of my artistic creativity with sound.

i love the impressionists, my favorite being monet, but i am able to appreciate others, iv been to almost every major museum in all the cities iv visited, i could spend ages in the prado in madrid!!! so beautiful!!!

I'm not very good at creating art, but I do have an excellent eye for it... my art collection (http://www.clayj.com/html/) includes well over 200 original works of art by some quite well-known artists. I wish I had 1% of the artistic talent that some of these folks have... but I make up for it in other ways. :) Of me and my siblings, I'm the scientist (tech support guru); my sister's the artist (degree in Art History); and my brother's the philosopher (degree in Philosophy).
