"Stuffy" nose

Anybody know how to clear the nose/ nasal 'canals' properly?

I feel like my nose is constantly "stuffy" but when i try to "blow it out" nothing comes out. It feels almost like it's permanently grown in there or something lol. And it kind of feels like less air gets through too as well as a more nasal voice.

Any ideas?

Is this a cold, or a chronic condition?

If it's the former, you can try some medicines such as Afrin or Sudafed; if it's the latter, consult your doctor, a respiratory specialist, or ENT.

sniff on some vicks vapor rub... sniffing that stuff totally relieves my sinus :D

Do you have your adenoids ?

when is becomes enlarged it can make it feel like your nose constantly stuffy and need to blow it , irritating.

also are you talking about stuffiness in back of nose near throat? or more up and inside around eye level?

You may want to try a nasal rinse with saltwater to clear out mucus and reduce swelling. Do twice a day 8oz each nostril. Neil's Med has both bottle and nettie pot as you prefer. You will feel great unless you have a nasal obstruction like a polop.

I know it's stuffy noses aren't caused by them there tubes being full of snot but I find making myself sneeze (looking at something bright does it for me) and closing the okay nostril helps me.

Yup, I agree. I hate doing it, it's messy and makes me feel like I'm drowning putting salt water up my nose but I have to admit it does work.
Takes practice though.

You should see a doctor if it persists. It could be a deviated septum or something not treatable with OTC meds.

If you get clogged up often, I'd go get tested for allergies and I'd see an ENT as well.

NeilMed DOES put salt up your nose, as their rinse ingredients are salt and baking soda. And its not messy or uncomfortable. And it doesn't take a while to learn or to get used to. The first time I did it, it worked amazingly and felt great. I wondered why I hadn't discovered it earlier. If you try this, you will never give it up, believe me. Even if you don't have sinus problems, it keeps you clean and makes you breathe easier.

Which is exactly the case here: chronic congestion. In this instance, there's no substitute for seeing a doctor.

Yh, I've had exactly the same problem for like 3 months now. I've been meaning to go and see the doctor but I just can't find enough time...I have a feeling that it's being causded by the A/C in my office...when I'm outside then it doesn't get stuffy :confused:

Vick's VapoRub is an irritant, and can increase mucus production.
