I just recieved a alum macbook that i purchased from apple. It is refurbished and i was inspecting it when i took it out of the packaging. I noticed that the battery cover isn't completely flush with the rest of the body. I can press down on it and it becomes flush with the rest of the body of the macbook. Is this common or something i should be concerned about?

probably wont affect the performance of the battery, but if you hav an apple store near by go ask them what they think.

Agreed - its a symptom of all aluminum macbook's or pro's. It's the way it's designed after someone opens it.

The battery cover on my Macbook wasn't flush right out of the box. I just kinda flexed it a bit. Took a week or so of taking it off randomly and flexing it for a few minutes before I got it to a shape that made it fit flush enough for my liking. Now it is perfectly fine.

It's just a small issue with the cover being so thin. It eventually fits all into place.

its funny that we care so much about this stuff. but its what apple gets for making their computers so pretty.

I think it's more because we pay through the nose for Apple's products and expect a consistent level of quality control.

ha yea there is that too. :rolleyes:

I've heard of people bending the "hooks" on the cover to make it pull in tighter, you could always give that a try instead of flexing the whole plate.

I've seen Sony laptops that cost more than Apple's with crabbier build quality. I'm happy with what I can get at this point. (;

Does anyone know which way to bend the clips? I did a search on this previously and no one is too specific on how to actually do it. They just say to bend the clips towards the floor? but from which direction etc? Can anyone post pics? Thanks!

From times where i have taken off the battery cover, it sometimes goes flush when i put it back on and close the clip or it doesnt. In which case I just give it a little push. Dont worry :P

No don't. I wouldn't bother, I started a giant thread on this. There's no use, just bend the clips a bit and you'll be fine.:apple:

Get them to swap it if you have a problem.
