any deals of 7200rpm 500gb HD for White MB ?

Guys,

I want to upgrade my MB to 500gb 7200rpm. If you know any deals regarding this HD...and suggest me which one is worth buying..Western digital or seagate.? Thanks in advance.

isnt buying an external hard drive an option for you.. just asking... cause it will be a little difficult to upgrade internal hard drive..

white mb hd is a breeze to upgrade. If I remember right, pop off battery and unscrew access panel. Lots of tutorials online w/pictures if you need.

Best way is to buy the new drive (newegg, owc, etc) and an external usb/fw case (OWC a good bet). Put new drive in external case, clone it with superduper or cccloner, then swap it for the old drive and pop old drive into the external case. Just make sure the case is the correct connection for your hd. don't want a sata for ide, etc. You get external, as well as upgraded internal.

haven't used either one, but always been happy with seagate laptop/desktop drives. Might want to consider heat issues with the 7200.

I have been looking for this everywhere. I swear this is the 37th thread i have read after searching "upgrade hard drive" in the Macbook forum. Thank you sooo much for this!

I already knew how to actually switch out the drives, but none of the tut's i found said anything about how to get your data from the old drive to the new one.

btw... just got the 7200.4 its was $145 after shipping. I ordered monday, had it by Tuesday afternoon!!! Better get them while they have them. I would have ordered two, but im strapped for cash and had to sell some things just to purchase the one.
