iPhone Project Help

So in the next week, my brother will be giving me his iphone first gen and the back of it is really scratched up and I wanted to paint it black.

What kind of paint would I have to use?
Would I have to sand the back aluminum?
Could I paint it without taking it apart?

Perhaps you should buy a new back cover from somewhere? :confused:

You can replace the back, they are on eBay for $100. However, they include a different serial number, and it will void the warranty (If it's not already expired).

Warranty has expired. I just want to paint it instead of having to buy a new back and having to replace that. I don't want to open up the iPhone and possibly break it, much less buy a new back for it when I can paint mine.
