Syncing w/ ITunes after a Hard Drive Crash

Hard drive crashed. Got all of the music off the Touch and back into the correct places. When I try to sync with ITunes I get the first message. When I do what the instructions say to do to authorize, I get the second message and nothing changes. If I try to sync the same thing happens. Any ideas on how to make the sync work?

Have you tried deauthorizing and reauthorizing the computer? Also, make sure you are logged into the iTunes account, I understand it's possible to have the computer authorized but not be logged in.

I did both. And it just loops around without fixing any problems.
