I just purchased a sony handycam and recorded a couple of movies on it. When I hook it up to my macbook pro I open the folder to watch the movie but its a cpi (?) file that won't open.
1) How do I get this file to play?
2) How do I convert it to a different format? AND will that compromise the integrity of the quality if I convert it to .avi or mpeg?
thanks

Which model?

What does the manual say?

On what medium is the video stored (SD, microSD, MemoryStick, HDD, DVD)?

Is there any software coming with the camera?
