tangerine desparetely seeking cd drive

ahoy everyone,

in my beloved tangerine ibook the cd-drive broke down the other day... now i´m searching what extern drive could fit... the problem i´m confronted with is: i´s the last one without firewire, the usb is 1.3 and i´m using os 8.6

that´s it.... :rolleyes:

first i thought about trying an memorex one, but this uses 9.1 -
but how to get it inside? is it possible via net to another mac?
but never chance a winning team, i´d like to stay with 8.6 anyway.

if one of you could give me a hint it would be very nice ;)

You don't say where you are but there are a number of websites that will sell you a replacement internal drive. For example (in the UK): http://www.applemacparts.com/iBook.php

thanx for the answer. i´m in germany. i thought an intern would be too expensive. and so on this ocassion it should be a cd-rw as well not only a drive. i know it´ll be not very fast, but speed is not my aim ;)

but i´ll look araound for this possibility as well. maybe i know someone whon helps me to gedt it inside :)
