Excel Problem

Hope this is correct forum..if not, sorry and please direct.

I have Office 08 on my macbook. Now excel will not open, get message "not enough memory".

I loaded in Neo Office which I like but can't find out how to over ride exel and have NO open spreadsheets.

Any suggestions:confused: please?
