Hey, nowhere do I see one of the most important reasons mentioned, and as an IT professional for over 20 years, I can tell you this:

Most of us are lazy and just want the bloody machine to work so we can go home and sleep.

Same thing at home - I just want one machine that just works. Period. My Macs generally run for years, my 2.0 DP G5 was trouble-free for five years, so far my Pro is being just as kind. It really is nice to come home from a hard day of dealing with computer issues and be able to sit down and work/play without grief.

Our office bought its first Mac in 1985. Became predominantly Mac in 1992. Now we have only one PC laptop, primarily used for proofing output to make sure it displays properly on PCs.
Reasons: ease of use by staff, short learning curve, security (viruses, etc.), AppleCare, ease of administration and updates, speed (with 8-core Mac Pros), slick laptops, ease of backups and server management
Downsides: no WordPerfect for Mac, Microsoft Office tries to do our thinking for us, some clients (external customers) and suppliers have compatibility issues (e.g., QuickTime)

I've been working as a summer intern in IT for 2 years now and as soon as i could afford i ditched my vista machine (pre-sp1, so the hardware is barely compatible with vista), and bought a macbook for school. After spending 10 hour days fixing other people's computers, it was nice for a change to not have to come home and fix my own.
