I just set up a wireless network when I got my iMac. Although there should be an easier way that you can do it with the iPod. Maybe someone else knows...

If you just want to move the data, just copy the iTunes folder from
<homedir>/music

I used this to copy my iTunes library to my laptop.

I used this to copy my iTunes library to my laptop.

That's the way to do it.

BUT!!!--Make sure you consolidate your library under the LIBRARY item in the pulldowns (file, I believe) so all songs are copied into the iTunes Music folder. I just got done a drive crash and didn't realize my files were all over the place, so it took forever to rebuild my iTunes library. PAIN IN THE ASS. Always keep all your songs copying into the iTunes folder.

I completed the move. Here is what i did.
1. Copied every folder and files found in document and settings\applicationdata\apple computer.
2. Copied every folder and files found in my documents\itunes
3. copied my music folder in my documents.
4. Installed Itunes on new PC and "authorized computer"
5. moved files saved in step 1 to new PC same folder overwrote as necessary
6. moved files saved in step 2 to new pc same folder overwrote as necessary
7. moved files saved in step 3 to new pc same folder overwrote as necessary

Launched Itunes as attached I touch synced and everything worked as if it was my old laptop.

I agree it helps know where all your music is.
