HI Everyone! Read on, I need some help for this:

Okay, recently I added a host to DynDNS, called http://kpc.selfip.com
Now, I tested this on my machine, and it worked -- the Apache Page showed up, which was correct.

However, I then put my computer to sleep and tried it downstairs on another computer. This did not work, and I think it is because my computer needs to be turned on.

2 Questions:

1. How do I make it so that when you type my ip hosting website into the address bar, it sends me to the Apache Page?

2. What is the point of having an ip hosting website via DynDNS if you cannot access it from another computer without keeping your computer awake all the time?

Please explain in full detail how and why this occurs. Thank you much!

BTW, you can test the website yourself. Click on the link and if you see Mac's OS X logo, then it works ( which you shouldn't ):

1. Port forward TCP 80 on your router to the machine hosting the site.
2. If you are trying to access a computer that's asleep, then of course it won't work.

Exactly how do I do this?

I go into my router's manual and how do I change it, or port it?

Plus, all my links in their are German. -- T-Online

Test the links now.

I'm hoping they work....tell me so!

Of course you have to keep your server computer turned on! DynDNS only hosts your URL Domain. All they do is direct mydomain.com to your server's IP address. Then your server hosts all the files. I have a server at my home for my website, and it is always on. I never turn it off. Only reason why I would is if I was moving it or installing a new component.
