Hi,

I'm talking about the one right before the unibody macbook pros.
I'm looking for a 2.4 ghz 25 watt penryn model, matte screen, etc.

Is there a place that still sells new ones besides mac mall? They want $1550 for it, which I remember used to be only $1350.

I definitely prefer the "old" tech more than this round of unibody macbook pro.

I would try the Refub store first. I'm not sure what they have there right now, but they usually have a good selection. And believe it or not, ebay or craigslist wouldn't be terrible solutions either.

there's one on the apple site refurbished!

its $1349+tax

Apple's refurb store probably. Ebay, Amazon (I think) and I do believe newegg has some of the older kind as well.

Thanks. I looked and apple refurbs for $1350 are not there. They start at $1700 for the unibody macbook pros.

Amazon doesn't show these "older" penryn macbook pros either.

They show up on the refurb story fairly frequently, usually at least once a week. You just have to check religiously. Unfortunately it's not very reliable. If unable to wait or find one online, check the online mac distributors (amazon, macmall, etc.). Good hunting!

there's a couple of 17 inch classic mbp right now.
