lost most of my icons in restore

okay, so my jailbroken 2.2 iphone 3g has been messing up and last night i restored it via itunes. i have currently upgraded to 2.2.1 and jailbroke via quickpwn but now most of my icons are gone. any suggestions on what i should/can do?

i guess the 2.2.1 jailbreak didnt work for me because i dont have cydia.

Coincidently this happened to me last night when I had to do a restore. In my case, it was because I had many apps in categories. I had to restore and set up the phone as new to get all the apps back.

If the issue is because you previously had your apps sorted with Categories, and have now restored from backup, then the following might do the trick:
Settings > General > Restrictions > Enable, then Disable.

i had a back-up before i jailbroke the first time and just restored my phone using that back up. if i would have chosen any other one i either wouldnt have contacts or icons.
