So I have spent the last couple weeks reimporting all my cd's onto an external drive in apple lossless. I'm done. I use these files at home.

However, I realized I wanted to have a lossy copy as well for my macbook pro, iphone, etc. I downloaded switch and let my computer sit for about 2 days while it converted every one.

The end: No ID3 tags in the converted files.

Does anyone know of a good converter that can do batch jobs that will convert to mp3, include the ID3 tag, and leave the original alone?

I think I answered my own question. I was thinking that iTunes would overwrite the files, but if I move the apple lossless files to a different folder, clear my library, uncheck move files to library and import using mp3 I can get a copy of my music in the same folder structure as mp3s while leaving my originals alone.

If this is wrong please correct me.

Thanks
