would the 15.4 inch glass screen fit an older mbp

i can buy just the glass bezel and glass for cheap any one think its possible to take the silver bezzel off and replace it with the full glass front

No. The Unibody MacBook Pro is slightly wider than older MacBook Pro. Although they didn't change the screen size and resolution, but the glass makes it even wider than before.

You would also run into issues with the latch, the new mbp's have a magnetic latch where the old one is mechanical and the glass bezel has no holes for it.

This is just a....bad idea. If you like the glass so much just buy the new unibody mbp. It's not for the time and hassle for doing that to your old mbp.
