I know these are no longer manufactured by anyone. But*maybe someone can lead me to a used ADC to VGA adaptor.
On my G5, ATI X800XT graphics card, one of the ports is ADC (Apple's propietary port). I need to hook up a VGA monitor to this port.

I have this same problem. I bought a ADC to DVI adaptor made by Belkin, ($49) and then a DVI to VGA gizmo ($20).
In the reverse, I also have a 17" Apple flat screen display with a ADC (powered connector) that I used with my G5 Dualie. The adaptors I bought listed above won't work since the display gets its power from the ADC cord. Just bought a new Mac Pro, and now I have have to buy a powered brick/adaptor made by Apple for $99 to use an old display.
Sigh.

I have an old studio display with an adc input and was wondering if it would be possible to go from vga to dvi to adc to hook the thing up to my vga video card. I know the monitor receives power and usb capability through the adc cable, but would this actually work, or do I need to purchase the $300 adapter(aka. buy a new monitor)?

that adapter is for going from a vga monitor to an adc video card, I want to do it the other way around(adc monitor to vga video card) The only solutions I have seen are to purchase the vgi to adc converter box, which runs about $300, or to perhaps purchase the $99 dvi to adc and then get a dvi to vga adapter. I was hoping for a less costly solution, as I'd like to use this monitor, but once I'm over $150 mark, I may as well just get a used flat panel with vga, or purchase a new video card.

I'm in a similar mess. I want to upgrade the graphics card on my old G5 but if I do I'm screwed because of ADC. I really like ADC monitors but the complete drought of proper converters etc for them nowadays makes them a nightmare to keep running.

I wasn't aware that they made ADC>VGA, only the ADC>DVI

Maybe you can get a DVI>VGA to use with the above?

here (http://www.drbot.com/prod/db.lasso?code=0151-VGAT) is the converter I'm talking about. It's a little pricey for what it does.

Maceditor,
I know exactly the adaptor you are looking for, a 35 pin male ADC to 15 pin female VGA - my co-worker has one. I have been looking for one also, but have yet to find it.
Have you or anyone else found a source?
