I was trying to find some more details on Apple's USB -> Ethernet adapter.

Apple's store is very spare in info, but it looks to be a Linksys/ Cisco guts.

Can someone look in the System Profile and post what it says??
Thanks.

It is a common AX88772 chip - which is a software bridge. (As used in modern Linksys adapters)

You'd be better off using a Pegasus based adapter like the ones sold here:

USB Ethernet Adapter (http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=theapplepeople)

Pegasus based adapters have a hardware (on adapter) bridge - are faster, more reliable, and you don't run the risk of it being broken by a future Apple software update
