iPhone 2g Unlocking issues

So I've tried multiple things and NOTHING will work. I've used quickpwn on 2.2.1 and with the original ATT sim card, quickpwn doesnt unlock it because the t-mobile card wont work in it, and I even tried running quickpwn with the TM card inside the phone like I had read somewhere...

Anyone have any suggestions? I unlocked my old 2g phone on 2.0 and it was cake, for some reason it wont work on my friends phone.

Put the phone in DFU mode and reinstall the 2.2.1 firmware. Do not activate the phone.

Then run Quickpwn to jailbreak and unlock, (tutorial here (http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1880)) and you should be good to go.
