Problem with DVD not spinning up

I decided to make my Mac Mini a HTPC and as such I am making digital copies of all my stuff.

My problem is that every now and then I will put a DVD in and it won't spin up and it wont show up in OSX. If I open Disk Utility it freezes.

The only way to fix it that I have found is to turn the computer off and then back on in which case it recognizes the DVD and I am back on my way.

Any ideas?

Same problem here. Loading CD's into iTunes after a series it would accept a disk, but no icon on desktop or anywhere...no way to eject disk...forced to reboot.
Brought computer to Apple store for diagnostic. After 5 days they replicated the problem and are now replacing the computer with a new one.
