All,

I was just sitting here thinking about pulling my NeXTStation out of the closet and hooking it up next to my iMac. That got me to thinking about how you almost never hear about OS X's roots anymore...

OS X still has the Mach kernal and BSD, right? So, how much new code has been added vs. the amount of "legacy" code from NS/OpenStep? How close of a relative to OpenStep is Panther?

On another topic, NeXTstep is over 15 years old. Will this legacy hurt OS X going forward? Or is MS Longhorn just now catching up to NS/OpenStep?

Just curious.
