upgrading 2006-7 mac pro processors

i have the dual processor dual core 2.66 ghz mac pro, purchased early 2007. I understand that this is a woodcrest. I also read once that it can be updated to a much faster machine with clovertown?
What does all of this mean, and how can I do it, and are there a FEW sets of detailed instrcutions or even youtube videos? Any model #s of processors? How much can performance be improved?
