Hi all,

Is 1920 by 1200 the max the late 2007 iMac can support on a Dell 3008wfp? In which case, will that look okay?

What would I need to do to get the max res out of this?

It'll look like crap. 30" displays are supposed to run at 2560x1600. The iMac cannot power that. Save your money and get a 23/24" 1920x1200 display that the iMac can power.

How about the 2709 or 2408? I'm trying to keep the size up as it's kind of going to double as my DVD/TV for my room (via VLC and EyeTV respectively)

I think the 27" are 1920x1200.

The important thing is not the size of the screen, it's the resolution.

I was told that even though the 27 is bigger in size, it has the same amount of pixels as the 24. Is that correct? If so, would it be the 24 or 27 that you'd recommend?

That is what I said.

I'd go for the 24 since I don't like things to look bigger than they need to, but you want it for TV/DVD. Choice is yours.

It's a shame that I don't have the latest iMac, as that can output, digitally, at a much higher resolution than the generation I've got.

Thanks for your help. I'll get a 24in ordered up and send the 30 back when it arrives.
