iOS device transfer and vice versa

Hi All,
I am asked to do a feasibility study of doing a data syncing tool in mac and windows for iphone / ipod. Especially media files. Are there any special sdks apple provides for this ? how can it be done ? any pointers are appreciated

Not directly, you'd need a server to which you connect over the air, and your own transfer protocol. HTTP is probably your best bet since it's fairly well supported by the SDK and makes the server-side straightforward.

Presumably by hacking on the iTunes protocol, pretending to be iTunes to the device in order to transfer music, etc.
