So, I've been using Windows all my life. Some not by choice.
My notebook died and I'm in search for a new one and I'm considering the macbook.

The only question I have is, will it run every Windows program without any issues? I'm going to be using this for work. Besides your typical Office suite, I run AutoCAD, Adobe CS, Audio and Video editing and burning. And all the licenses are for Windows.

I just want to make sure I won't have any software issues before taking the leap.
I guess what I'm asking is, is Windows under an Apple hardware work exactly as Windows would?

Thanks.

Oh, and I want an Apple because I figure I should learn about apple software too. I do a little IT on the side and I figure it would be good to learn OSX.

Yes, just use Boot Camp and not a virtualization suite.

You can try VirtualBox on the Mac with windows installed inside. That's what I do and with the latest release of VB, my windows VM can do it all on my mac mini. But I don't push it very hard.

Autocad? That might need a little more juice, but I'm sure it would install and run fine in a Windows VM.

I too run Windows for Windows' programs. I have AutoCad running just fine. I've used SolidWorks, LabView, MatLab, MPLAB, and many other coding and design programs just fine on my MacBook Pro using XP in BootCamp.
