Does anyone use a free proxy IP site? Can you name some good ones?

Thanks :)

A google search will yield plenty o results...however, in my opinion, most proxy servers are shady. Free ones could be worse.

Thanks guys. :)

What about IP masking software....anything good for the mac?

Thanks... :)

the first big one that came up on google (before I posted this thread) was 'proxy 4 free'.

I was reading that it said the internet moves faster because they already have the stuff in their cache (so you don't have to...I guess since websites aren't seeing your computer) (I'm ignorant about these things)

Ahhh, I see, Tor is software. I'll check it out. ;)

Ahhhh, I also see you need to do a bunch of reconfigurations in your system. Unfortunately I'm kind of a 'click on it then forget' kind of person when it comes to applications that have anything to do with anything other than music or photography.

You don't. There's just a package to run, and then you have to start an app whenever you want to use Tor.

Thanks..I'll look at it again. I was skimming through some of the 'what it does and does not do' thing, and it said a bunch of stuff like having to turn off your browsers plugins because QT can give out your IP etc etc.. and some other things you need to be on top of...
But like I say, I'm no expert in these

You realize that you will eventually be found out and banned again, right? Why stay somewhere you are clearly not welcome?

Not a problem except its a political forum with cliques that get away with stuff while others get banned for lesser offenses because they cry to the mod.

Its not the end of the world. Discovering proxies and trying to implement its use is just one of the amusing aspects of the net. An experiment for me, if you will. :)

I found some amazing software today, much better than Tor, then i remembered your thread. It takes some knowledge of Firefox and existing proxy's to get it working, but its blazingly fast, i find its about 30x to 50x faster than the standard Tor proxy config, depending on the time of day:

its called Jondo proxy, search in Google for more info.
