A lot of people here at work (IT-professionals and Unix gurus) are really impressed by what Apple is doing.

That program has given me so much trouble.

Everytime I make a template for a business client.
He asks me to make it with Frontpage...

I try to explain that I dont use Frontpage because it sucks.
I use Dreamweaver, and that I will make him a template in Dreamweaver.

Does Dreamweaver make templates? he asks.

I love BBedit, and the Lite version lets you do just about everything you need! (now I always thought it was a little silly, when the app simple text lets you do the same thing for nothing)

XP - is still as insecure as ever, with no less than 6 CERT advisories in the first two months since it was released, and 2 FBI warnings. And XP was supposed to be the most secure Microsoft operating system yet. Not! Frontpage is the same problem, its security is such I would never put in my information on any website that used Frontpage. Hacking Windows is as easy as submitting an e-mail with a .PIF or DLL file, and a script that tells it to run those files. It is so insecure that swiss cheese comes to mind. Mac OS X on the other hand leaves all the hacker ports closed except for those who want to hack their own machines. Oh and there isn't a single virus for Mac OS X.

What makes XP even more insidious is that it requires personal information that is accurate to be sent to Microsoft in order to even keep it operational. Activation is another load of insecure nonsense, made by Microsoft only for their own security against pirates, not for user security.

What's wrong? Security, that's what's wrong. That's why the Army is moving to the Macintosh.

BBEdit is more than Simpletext...it is the all purpose webpage editor with no filesize limit (Simpletext is like 32k). BBEdit offers sorting, grep style search and replace, templated html and css commands, all the while never forcing on you a webpage code that you don't want to add to your website. BBEdit even offers split screen editing on the same file! There is so much more to BBEdit than meets the eye. Get the pro version if you are a webpage editor. You are going to be just amazed. The thing actually comes with a decent sized paper manual!

I think he said Lite version and wasn't refering to the full BBedit.

yeah the lite version is great for html editing, I still like simple text because it's just more, well, simple.

I can't imagine what the full version od bbedit does that I would need it to do, I'm very happy using your basic text editor or whatever to do stuff.

I'd like to learn it all in terminal sooner or later, I've found doing stuff through there (chmod, copy, move etc) is actually faster than in the finder.
