I have a quick question, I want to restore my hard drive restore to a previous date,, so, is I enter time machine and chose the date I want, click on macintosh HD and click restore, will that completely restore my HD to that day? Will all the new files after that day be gone? That is what I want to do. Or will I have to do a format and restore from time machine using the cd?

The main reason I want to do this is because I uninstalled some programs and I saw that some files are still in the HD, and I'm sure I can't find them all, and I want to try to keep my MBP as clean as possible.

Thank you for your help, and before anyone asks, yes, I tried to search the info and came up empty handed...

You have to boot from the DVD, then choose Restore from Time Machine from the menu.
