powermac or imac

Hey guys,

I am currently looking into a desktop system to support my notebook. I was thinking of either the imac 17" stock + airport or the powermac g5 1.6 stock + airport. I plan on using it to sync my ipod, movie editing, dvd burning, web developement, light ftp hosting and light web hosting. The real decision for me is between the screen on the imac verse the optical audio out (i have logitech Z-680s).... i was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what to buy

Your delrma is similar to mine. Go for the G5; when in doubt, optical out. That was stupid. Anyway, the G5 is SOOOOO much faster than the iMac. Get it and don't look back. Load it up with RAM too. I think the 1.6 is superfast with around 1.5gb
