the one I have doesn't have the illuminated keyboard, and I don't need the extra gigs and other stuff, but all tax included, you guys think its worth it?
its in canadian dollars if it makes a diff

I got it because of the illuminated keyboard. Can't live without it... but I wish I got the 2.0GHz model now because I'm using my MacBook as a desktop and taking the MacBook Pro everywhere.

I got the 2.4GHz model mostly because I figured if I'm going to shell out all this money I'm gonna go all out so I don't regret it later. The keyboard is pretty nice, after using it for the past week (my MB is brand new) I turn the back lights off and I don't know how I went without it on my old HP notebook. I'm more than pleased with my $1800+ purchase (well $1700 with MS Office after my discount).

totally worth it. it is so sexy and superficial. you can see where your money went rather than just visualizing that you bought better hardware (ie faster cpu and stuff....)

Absolutely not. Do you know what's worth $400? Four $100 dollar bills - that you can use to spur the economy elsewhere.

You can always buy a 2.4 refurbished for about $150 CAN more than the 2.0 new. I heard the refurbished are exactly like a new unit without the fancy box...

so not worth it, my gf has it b/c she's possessive and superficial 😀 i memorized my keyboard and use the extra $$ somewhere else.

I use mine all the time while I am watching TV so for me it is a must. Its one of my favorite things with the Macbook.

I'm sure I'd use it if I had it, but it's one of those things where I'd take it b/c it was free, rather than pay for it.

The difference between the educational discounts on the two models, plus the value of the additional HD space (which I needed) made the difference only $160. That was easily worth it for me for the illuminated keyboard and faster processor.

the keyboard is not worth $400

the other stuff that comes with that new MacBook compared to the older MacBook, however, is...
