Met plan to fast track black recruits

The Met definitely need alot more ethnic representation in the Police Force (not limited to just recruiting black people) to be more representative of the Capitals incredibly diverse population... but I'm not entirely sure that positive discrimination is the best way of achieving it... :rolleyes:

Discrimination is wrong... period! The Met really don't have a f**kin' clue... :rolleyes:

Encouraging minority cops is a good thing. Studies have shown that people respond better to cops that look like them.

The should get the same training etc. though. Anything else is a disservice to everyone.

I agree, it's a good idea to recruit more blacks. It will encourage better race relations and the response to the police department. The important thing is that recruitment be done on merit. Training should remain the same, otherwise its a disservice to everyone.
