Apple's return policy states you can return before 14 days and you pay a 10% restocking fee. Nothing in apple return policy says anything about 2 year old machines.
Neither AppleCare nor Warranty have anything to do with return policy; AppleCare comes into play after the 1 year warranty runs out.
If you have AppleCare and you have a problem with a 2 year old machine, Apple will repair the machine, not replace it unless there have been three major repairs for the same part.
IIRC there was a recycle option at one time, but it was a pittance compared to the real value on the open market.
Apple doesn't do trade-ins, which is what you are actually trying to do. Apple would have no way to resell 2 year old machines. Taking a car back after owning it for 2 years is not returning it; it is trading it in (not returning it) and the dealer just gives you an allowance against purchase of a new machine. The value the dealer gives you is usually 20% less than the dealer expects to sell it for.
