I'm looking to sell my MacBook 1st Gen. Just a few pointers about it...
CPU: 1.83Ghz
RAM: 2GB
HDD: 160GB
Mac OSX: Leopard

I also had the top case replaced on it recently due to cracking.

How much do you think i could ask for the laptop? In British Pounds please!!

Thanks for your help

Depends on how well you took care of it, truthfully. If it looks nice, you could probably up the price a little more.

I did that just for kicks. Ah, my MBP is almost two years old and still worth over $1200. Makes me happy.

Yeah, it is a little bit of a lowball estimation. But be prepared for prospective buyers to use this site on you when you try to sell your mac.

See what a similar system is going for on ebay or craigslist. If you're going to leave any significant software on your machine (what I like to call greyware) you may want to post that on your ad.

I've seen similar units post at my local used/recycled electronics shop for approx $620 USD, which I personally think is a little high. I know macs traditionally have good resale value, but it amuses me when I see people post two year old systems, out of warranty, on a want ad and think they can get the original retail price minus two or three hundred dollars.

I've also seen people list their machines on ads and give almost no information with headlines like, 'macbook in mint condition' when its two or three years old; it's like they're trying to snare someone who doesn't know macs or who is isn't doing they're homework.

I wouldn't pay more than $500 for a core duo with a intel 950 integrated graphics.
