Has anyone, other than me, tried OmniWeb 5.0 Beta? I am using it right now and it seems a pretty powerful web browser, but so much slower than safari. It has a lot of neat features and would love to get others' feedback on this program. BTW, I am in now way affiliated with Omnigroup, but like this and their other products. (Would love it if it didn't feel so sluggish on my 867 12" PB with maxed Ram.)

Any thoughts?

To download the public beta and try it go to omnigroup.com....

GidI actually paid the license fee for OW 4.5. I have the latest OW beta. I don't know what you mean by "slow." However, you should remember that OmniWeb checks and updates your bookmarks where possible. This may account for the leisurely performance. You might want to go to OmniWeb>Preferences and set this to "Never."

I tried that and it still seems to be very sluggish. i will keeping changing the prefs, but i think I might end up back at Safari, even though this is more powerful.

i used omniweb almost exclusively until camino hit about .5 and then safari when it came out. the new 5 beta does seem slower than safari and it still takes a long time start up. it definitely trounces any other browser out there in terms of features, but most of my time in a browser is very quick (thanks netnewswire) and i really don't need all of the frills.

I do agree that OmniWeb takes longer to start up. The actual functioning when doing a search or using a bookmark seems to be about the same time wise. It is still in Beta mode though.
