I've just set up Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard Server and everything has configured nicely, except for MySQL.
No matter what settings I put into the /etc/my.cnf file, MySQL ignores them every time I start it up from within Server Admin and even goes as far as creating a new file called my.cnf.default in /etc. The only way my settings take effect, is if I start from the Terminal with "mysqld_safe".
I would like to be able to control everything under "Server Admin" if possible, so does anybody have any idea why it keeps resetting/ignoring my changes to my.cnf? Even when my.cnf reflects the change, the MySQL server still refuses to use the file in /etc/.
All I was trying to do for now, was alter the server port that MySQL uses, should have been simple.
