World of WarCraft 3.1 PTR

I was wondering if anyone here has had the chance to try out the player-test realm for the new 3.1 patch yet, specifically those with G5s and high-end G4 systems. I've heard that Blizzard implemented some changes to the graphics and latency so that 25-mans aren't such a drain on a lot of users' systems. Can anyone with a "lower end" Mac confirm this?

While this doesn't go back as far as you wanted...

My 1st Gen CoreDuo Macbook Pro in 3.1 seems a little smoother in 25 man Naxx runs with my mage. I didn't notice dramatic improvement but it was there. 3.0 was obviously a huge hit on performance for many, me included on this system.
