These ads are good at procuring emotion. It certainly touched a nerve with many Apple fans. Just look at the amount of responses in MacRumors' own thread... it's quite funny.

But, was this the intent of Microsoft's marketing division or ad agency? I don't see this translating to increased sales. I could be wrong.

"Jobs just loves to fight. He screams at, and then makes up with, employees. He publicly critiqued the Treo, the BlackBerry and other smart phones even as he introduced Apple's first smart phone. He quipped that cranking out software, such as iTunes, for Windows users was akin to "offering a glass of ice water to a person in hell," at a conference in 2007 the day before he was expected to make nice with Mr. Windows himself, Bill Gates, during a joint appearance."

Best part of the article.

I think a solid point has been made when he says it never looks good when the big guy picks on the little guy. But I think he's at least a bit off when he suggests that Ballmer has played into Apple's hands. It's not like Gates was ever shy about beating up on the little guy. That kind of behavior has always been an important part of Microsoft's culture.

I feel like suing Forbes over the brief few moments I spent reading that article as I want my life back. It was wasted on that "blog journalism" piece.

Has anybody yet found the message of that article? Except for the typical praise for "your insanely great leader [Steve Mobs]"...
