will a computer with airport installed connect to a router wirelessly that is not an apple router but IS 802.11b???????

For starters, question marks are used for questions; not exclamations.

Yes, 802.11b is 802.11b is 802.11b. Whether Apple, Linksys, or Netgear makes the access hardware it'll work the same.

You are only without choice on the card in your computer. That one has to come from Apple.

'airport question' is not a question, it's a statement if he put 'airport question???????' it would be more asking if anyone else had questions about airport than saying he had such a question. as it is, it's more of an emphatic declaration of having a question. when the question was actually asked, question marks were utilized. i mean, if you're going to be picky about that sort of thing...
