...Peaches are better.
Hi there, my name is Rob and i am doing a study on the Apple brand for part of my second year of my degree at university (college) in London. I am very interested in the opinions of the dedicated Apple Fans, and where else would I go but macumors for them ? :D
please please please answer my questionnaire, which is at:
http://www.bigwhitebox.co.uk/apple
Thank you very much for your time
Rob.
Ps. sorry about that terrible joke, I think Apple is an amazing company, with truly brilliant products.

Nice questionaire - I like the way ratings of 1 - 10 are also explained by more detailed text below, justifying the rating.

Clever advertisement campaign for your questionaire, apple should try it something like it, like just say windows suck and then you will see the masses gain attention for apple.

You know I dont appreciate your Apples are rubbish joke at all. Apples are way better than peaches, come on! There are so many varieties and colors of apples. You can have tart apples and sweet ones, green ones and red ones. They can be put into pies, made into sauce, dried to make chips, made into juice, put into cobblers, etc. etc. Anyone that has ever had a warm piece of homeade apple pie fresh from the oven with some ice cream could never support your claim that apples are rubbish. Oh yeah, I filled out your questionarre for you. Good luck on your studies! :D ;)

The only problem is that if you shout, "Apple Computer SUCKS!" on a crowded street, a bunch of people likely to tell you to shut-up or maybe even beat you up. However, if you shout "Windows SUCKS!" on a crowded street, a bunch of people are likely to throw their hand in the air and shout back, "Hell yeah, let's get the bastards!"

If you shout "MACS SUCK", you're likely to get either cheered or booed. Or at least ripped into by the faithful. "But why?", we say... launching the begining of a long, and boring, speech about how much better the Mac is point by point. (yeah, I do it too)
If you shout "WINDOWS SUCKS", most people just quietly agree.

Although I'm a relitive apple noob (owner since december, fan since june) I was pretty proud to remember the Yao Ming ad and the iPod ads with the singers. Now if only the G5 ad wasn't so lame...
Done and done. Good luck.

All this talk of apricots and peaches has got me thinking - I wonder if Apple will ever release a new, completely different product line to complement the Mac? As opposed to the Macintosh, they could call it the Fameuse, the Golden Russet, the Rhode Island Green, the Delicious.... ;)

Yeah, it's been discussed. Apple did come out with the Pippin, which is in the apple theme, as well as the Newton which is obviously drawn from the Apple connection. But they missed opportunities, scalable computing on the Mac should be called Orchard: hey man, you should see my company's render-farm... no man, you should see our Orchard, it's amazing. But, it doesn't seem like they're going anywhere specific with the Apple theme, so maybe not. time will tell. but the names of other apples are pretty bad, if you think about it... mcintosh was the obvious choice.

Yah, that was exactly my thought as well - the other types of apple (some of which I named above) don't exactly lend themselves to hip, cool computer names. ;)

hello everyone. Thanks for your great response. I now have 360 emails to read and analyse. (i soo wish i had done it dynamically)
i don't really need anymore, so could you only submit more if you have comprehensive comments to say, referring to the advertising especially. (one of the last two fields)
thanks to all who contributed, and i will endeavour to read them all.
I have started a new thread, called "why i love apples more than oranges".
The basic question is, WHY are you so passionate about apple products. Why do they give your life purpose? This might seem quite extreme to a few, but from my many replies, Apple seems to be a way of life for you guys.
Rob.
