I'm about to move to Eastern Europe and don't expect an Apple Store to be anywhere within a thousand miles. My GF needs a computer too. So here's my problem.

I give my GF my Rev A 17" PB (and she has sex with me - it's a good deal. She's staggering.)

I buy a Rev c 17" (I like the big screen) with a 1.5, 5400 and 128 9700 video card. The question is do I see a real performance increase. My guess is yess but anyone done a comparison?

If the difference isn't there would it be smarter to buy a Rev B and save the cash?

No - she demands cash. But this is LA and LA hot is not the same as midwest hot. Our women are Ferrari's. Unreliable and expensive but great to look at and desired by all.

I need to start a new thread. How much faster will a 1.5 rev C be in real terms compared to a 1.0 rev A?

well, first off - we can judge whether we want to believe you. Since none of us will probably ever meet anyway (that would be weird, no offense to anyone) you are safe no matter who you say she is.

Anyway, for internet browsing - same speed. For some apps, opening large files might be a little faster. Depends on what you're using.
