Hi, I bought a mac mini and it just arrived today.
It was a used one.
I just hooked everything up and it works but the mouse and keyboard wont connect. It loads the desktop and I cant do anything.

Please help. This is my first Mac. Thanks.

are you trying to mount a bluetooth keyboard and mouse? Is it possible that the BT is turned off and in that case you want to hook up a hardwired version of both and go into your system preferences and make sure everything is on the up and up. Just a thought

Plug in an external hardrive or pen drive that YOU KNOW WORKS!

If the computer recognizes it let us know, if not your USB ports are dead for some reason.

Ok, I tried that and it recognized it. It asked me if I wanted to use it to back up with Time Capsule. And unfortunatly I can't click anything.

And I know the mouse and keyboard work because I've tried them with my PC.

I had an issue like this on my 09 mini after coming back from bootcamp. I had to remove my mouse from my keyboard and plug them in indivdually and move around ports and it started working again, then I was able to go back to the old setup mouse plugged in to keyboard.

Thanks
But I tried a different wireless mouse and keyboard and they work fine.
Thanks again for trying to help. Appreciate it.
