Need your expertise on This
I'm selling my Macbook Air on Ebay and the Buyer asked for the Serial #. It is safe for me to provide him the serial # before I ship it to him?
Thanks for your help in advance.

My answer is YES - it is safe to provide.
Look at it the other way - if you are buying a MBA online - you want to check to make sure it is legit, not stolen, and has applecare etc. but you need the serial number to do that.
If I was selling I would provide it on a user by user basis like ebay buyers requesting. I just would never post it in a forum etc....

I would share it privately with one potential buyer, but I wouldn't post it on the eBay page. That would allow search engines to see it, and then it could be found by the wrong person. But absolutely share it with a potential buyer.
Good luck with the sale. What are you replacing it with?

Thanks for the tip. I'm debating between the MB or MBP. I hate the MB screen but love the portability. Loves the MBP screen but hates the size. Now you know my dilemma.
Thanks again Scotttsdale.

Then shouldn't you just stick with the MBA? Or did it not suit your needs?
