I have an application that works for iPhone. It's pretty simple stuff.
Do you know if the app is fully compatible with the iPod touch and what things I should be careful about if I want to make it compatible with iPod touch?

its not really a port seeing as the platforms are pretty much identical. Providing your application doesn't use any of the iPhone specific features it will run exactly the same. (Unless of course you are making a game, each device has different graphic/speed performance and so testing across the devices can be very inconsistent)

No it is not a game, it's a very simple app. I was expecting this but I wanted to make sure:p
