To all fellow MAC Lovers and MAC users in this site.

I am a MS Windows (MCP) consultant based in California and unfortunately don’t know much about Apple, Have worked with Linux and red hat to some stage and need some friendly expert advice as i have a customer who recently bought an Apple Mac notebook and asked me to transfer data ( e-mails , pics letters )from her (imac os10.4) to the new Apple Mac notebook.
typically, i am thinking transferring data via a wired network(Hub) would be the best way, based on the total data size , or alternatively an external HDD ,
Could someone provide me with some facts, tips, or perhaps a good guide line or a URL so I can achieve this with no embarrassment and a happy ending result for my client.

I really appreciate your thoughts and assistance.:)

Best regards .Keyvan

You could start here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3322

If both Macs have firewire you could use something called Target Disk Mode to coonect them up. Otherwise ethernet (via a hub) or WiFi.
